eCommerce Design Operations Manager

About the Role

This person will work closely with the Head of Design and Product Curation in managing inbound lead process as well as customer care resolution process. We are looking for an organized and enthusiastic individual to add to our growing design team.
The ideal candidate to be a self-starter and enjoys an entrepreneurial environment in a family business. Must have a strong technical ability to learn and to be able to directly support our customers.  This role would involve all aspects including business development, quoting, direct solicitations and all sales activities needed to grow the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Transform customer leads into interior design clients by providing an exceptional customer experience
  • Develop functional and creative design solutions that meet the client’s requirements, aesthetic, and budget
  • Create virtual design presentation and sales quote using Vevano products based on client provided measurements and photos
  • Ensure accuracy of all drawings and specifications before presenting designs to the clients
  • Ensure accuracy of all drawings and specifications before placing any order
  • Establish and maintain relationships while selling ideas products and services
  • Work with the marketing team to create content based on products and designs
  • Stay up to date on design trends
  • Work with clients through iterations of design while suggesting additional products
    to complete design
  • Accurately complete orders and all paperwork associated with sale according to design team’s process

Required Qualifications

  • Lead a team of design team in: 
    • Tracking and responding to leads 
    • Tracking orders and handling customer questions and concerns after designer has completed design process 
    • Responding to phone, email, and chat inquiries in a prompt and professional manner
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff 
  • Maintains and refines database or list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information discovered 
  • Work closely with Head of Design + Product Curation in managing lead and team assignments 
  • Help develop and implement lead process 
  • Achieve weekly sales goals and quota via an established sales process and plan 
  • Primary effort is to define, generate, qualify and prospect new business targets in a defined territory location, closing new sales and creating prospects 
  • Represent the company either in person or by telephone, to call on regular and prospective customers 
  • Demonstrate products and services in a professional manner 
  • Collaborate with service and management to assure customer sales satisfaction, identify new client referrals and/or business prospects 
  • Propose pricing and prepare sales contract for orders obtained 
  • Track and communicate leads, provides customer data for tracking purposes 
  • Prepare reports of business transactions, track results and keeps expense accounts 
  • Provide ideas, recommendations and support regarding new business development 
  • Stay up to date on sales skills, professional knowledge and self-training to maximize professional growth and advancement 
  • Stay up to date on company capabilities, products, services and/or changes regarding sales and customer needs 
  • Learn and prepare training in coordination with Head of Design + Product Curation for both process and product 
  • Work with Head of Brand + Digital Marketing to set up attribution of leads

Recommended Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of related sales experience with growth performance in regional sales. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and close key prospective clients 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and sales skills to provide customers with the value-added support that makes Vevano unique in the interior design and home improvement industry 
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently in prioritizing daily schedule and workload 
  • Demonstrate understanding of the “sales process" 
  • Warm lead calling and negotiation skills 
  • Strong computer skills and experience with CRM software 
  • Strong customer-centric, relationship and retention ability 
  • Ability to foster teamwork with peers and direct reports 
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to coach and mentor customer service representatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor 
  • 2+ years of customer care experience in a leadership role 
  • Ability to quickly get to know a variety of projects
